I am attempting to bring a new brush material to the market. Perhaps material is misleading, not something like plutonium, but a new color scheme.

I want to get some poly resin made in a vertical striped two-tone butterscotch-cream. The colors would be hex codes FF9900 and FFCF79. You can Google both those codes and find examples.

Before I go crazy spending lots of money, is this a color brush handle any of you gentlemen would be interested in? I don't know who would make the brushes, if anyone. I simply want the option out there, as it is my dream handle color.

Thoughts and suggestions fully welcomed.

Thanks.

Personally, i like Butterscotch, but in one solid colour.
i have never cared much for vertical stripes, but if it looked nicely done, then i might be interested.
Good luck.

Huh, not exactly an outpouring of support for this idea... Would pictures help?

Celestino, thanks for chiming in - it would be my goal to sway the interest of people like you, who like solid butterscotch.

Not sure i like the thought of butterscotch 2 tome stripes, but who knows.

If its anything like the ivory striped ones, I will not be interested as I don't like the look of those either.

Alright, so the stripe pattern would be similar to this, although I think the stripe widths may end up being slightly wider. (Photo courtesy Rudy Vey, it's a brush he made for me recently).

And here are the proposed colors:

It has potential with the right handle shape.

RV's above is a good example of making the material work for the handle. The few breaks in it with ridges and shape changes work with this one.

It does sound interesting, but i would have to see a finished model as the colours you are proposing don't really work for me as they are. i am a very visual chap and i need to see the colours together in the handle. i hope this helps. Biggrin

stripes are not majorly popular. i have one.

also buttersctoch is not for everyone either. for example i dislike it.

so butterscotch + stripes means you have picked an incredibly niche market. so no dont go crazy getting tons of this. but if its just for yourself then who cares what anyone else thinks. if you plan on selling some then just get a few.

I like butterscotch brushes, but agree with the plan laid out by riskybadger for the same reasons.

I'd like a strong butterscotch color, but the other I'd like something more in contrast.
Maybe the total opposite in the tone color variation scale ... as here: http://www.colorhexa.com/ff9900
The color is http://www.colorhexa.com/c1bdb7

And, yes, with a nice shape ... maybe something similar to Simpson Emperor ... I'd purchase it. Tongue

If only the secondary color were white...maybe a Rocky Top TN version. Smile

Sounds like a cool idea...but probably couldn't convince SWMBO I need one.

If you don't mind me asking, what is it about this color combo that you're interested in?

I've somewhat given up on the idea for several reasons.

1) Not much general interest from the shaving community. I fully expected some to say "Heck no, that's ugly," and others to say "I want different colors," but I was also expecting more generally positive opinions. Those didn't really emerge.

2) No brush manufacturers or businesses seem willing to purchase the leftovers. I would have to order 50kg of material - roughly the equivalent of 250-350 brushes. I don't want piles of polyresin lying around my house, especially with the upfront cost associated.

I appreciate everyone's comments, but it looks like this possible project is going into hibernation for awhile.

Sometimes things just move slowly.

And as a post ages it moves down the list of other posts until it comes back to the top.

And sometimes it takes time to wake up in the morning.
