My wife happened to hit a dollar store around here a while ago, and picked up several bars of Yardley bath soap for me.

They were all less than a dollar - a pretty nice deal. But how does this soap perform?

--------------

This soap is a tallow-containing soap (third ingredient), and it lathers like a champ. Its cleansing abilities seem to be pretty strong, and my skin loves this stuff - remaining hydrated through the day. The lather has a shave-lather feel about it - it is soft and firm at the same time - very cushioning. A+ on this aspect.

The Lavender scent is refined and I liked it. Not too strong or chemically smelling. It is a refreshing scent. I'll give it an A here.

The packaging was fine - the usual cardboard box. The soap is one of those curved bars that is supposed to help make contact with your skin.

-----------

However, I tried another bar - Oatmeal and Almond, and that was not as good. The lathering was about the same, but the oatmeal was actually pretty scratchy. Didn't care for it at all. Lavender for me!

----------

The Lavender one is a great deal at the price we picked it up. It sells for a little over a dollar online, but the dollar store price is the best. Look up your local dollar store and see if they have it.

I love Yardley bath soaps and have a small stockpile of various scents stashed back, which include...

English Lavender
Oatmeal & Almond
Rose & Pomegranate
Cocoa/Shea butter
Lemon Verbena
Winter Spice - Smells like cinnamon, available around the holidays.
Vanilla Sugar - Smells like sugar cookies, available around the holidays.

I think my favorite is Rose & Pomegranate.

Here you go, Celestino. These are the ingredients from the cocoa butter one.

I used Yardley Lavender throughout the month of September. It almost lasted the entire month. I literally used the soap until it dissolved. I have since replaced it with Stirling Scots Pine.

I also found this at my local $ store. They are Yardley Vegetable soaps.

haven't used it yet as they only had 2 pucks, so I purchased them along with 6 English Lavender.

Yardley is made in the US made by the Marietta Corp in Missouri who also makes Aveda, Zest, Lever, Suave, Pantene, etc under contract. They make a lot of the hotel soaps and personal products also.

Nice soap

I stock up on Winter Spice so it becomes my year round soap choice for a couple of years now. This is one of the better mass marketed products in terms of value. Great lather, scent, and price.

Only tried Lavender and Oatmeal & Almond. I did however run across a two pack of Lemon Verbena though, so I grabbed it. Will try it when my other is gone. It's pretty limited around here, thought about trying Whole Foods to see what they have.
