Newbie from the Rocky Mountains looking forward to trying some DE action.

Supplies are on the way - soaps (Cella, Arko, and RazoRock), alum stick, Omega brush, and blades (Astra and Feather) - but haven't settled on a razor yet.

I like old stuff so was planning on going the vintage route. Probably a Gillette Fat Handle Tech or a Super Speed.

That's about as good of a start as I can think of, Deco. Welcome to the forum.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those Gillettes. They shave pretty similarly, in my experience. The Tech is a 3 piece razor and the SS has a little more weight to it and is twist-to-open. Find a nice, user-grade one for less than $15.

Hello and Welcome to TSN.

Try a 1912 Gem Razor, a Gillette New from the 1930s, a Gem G-Bar from the 1930s, a Gillette Superspeed, and then a Gillette Adjustable. Then, you can get an Injector and by then you will have covered most of the "vintage".

Then, you can either start on newer safety razors or get a straight.

Welcome to the Nook! Both would be good starter razors because they are mild and good for learning. If I had to choose one it would be the Super Speed.

Hello and welcome to The Shave Nook. I would suggest that you bypass all the double edge Bull Dinkey and jump right into Single Edge. Save yourself a bunch of heartache. Get yourself a GEM Featherweight and enjoy the ride..... Happy Shaves !!!!
