I've tried several storage ideas, but I think I've settled on this. I threw these in there as proof of concept, but in reality I've ordered 2 more to go with this one. I'll probably segregate them based upon vintage/modern/Stainless since those are the three genres I seem to enjoy the most.

The only razors that gave me issues were the Merkur Futur and the long handle Weber. If I take the top foam pad out they fit just fine, but then the shorter razors can wiggle around. Since the iKon Moderns are just a shade shorter than those two, I may just have one box where some of them lie flat.

I drop tested this and then let it ride in the floorboard to and from work. Not a razor out of place and now I don't have them scattered around like a flophouse for wayward Gillettes.

I like that! I don't have the real estate to build a proper cabinet for all my gear (someday) and struggle with storing in various boxes and shelves between my bathroom, bedroom and closet. This is a nice standard for storage. Are your razors regular members of your rotation or do they stored in the cases? Either way, very nice!

I try to use every razor with some frequency. That was kind of the motivation to do this. As I was rotating through, it seemed that I had a pile of razor on the sink, under the sink, on my workbench etc. The only way I can get myself to commit to keeping things organized is for everything to have a proper place. Plus, when I'm introducing new people to wet shaving I can transport these to work or their home a lot easier.

Very nice. I love Pelican cases and have thought about doing something similar for my fountain pens.

very nice... I like that, I may have to think about getting something similar.
This is what I currently use to "tackle" my organization issues. I have one for DE 3 piece, one for TTO, one for SE, one for blades, one for brushes....

one for fountain pens that aren't inked but in rotation...
one for fountain pens that are not in rotation...

Must... not... drool...

Looks very good - out of a curiosity I can feel in my wallet; what is the two non-reflective black razors?

Those are both Weber DLC coated heads. I took the Weber long handle off and put the head on a Tech handle if memory serves (the long Weber handle is on the far rigth column in the middle row). That one was easily solved. The two piece Futur is another story...

Here's a side by side with the iKons to show that the Weber is a "head" taller than even the OSS and Modern

For those of you who interested, Pelican sells the "pull and pluck" foam blocks without the case. Wink

The only thing better than that Pelican case is the collection of razors inside!

That is a fantastic idea and I can't think of a safer place for your safety razors!

Pelican cases are waterproof and you can drive a vehicle over them without fear of damage!

Pelican case is a great idea.

My spares and the boneyard are housed in the cases that Justin has pictured though. I think they were $3-$4 at K-Mart.
