I love Bay Rum! Today I started the morning off with Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum. I know Bay rum fans have their favorite, and the recipes vary from heavy clove to citrusy to sweet to spicy. Nonetheless, I have not found a bay rum I don't like. While I am partial to Captain's Choice, I love others and use them. I use bay rum soaps, shaving creams and after shave lotions. I wanted to start this thread to find out what bay rum products you use and to pay homage to that great fragrance to which every artisan bay rum maker interprets diffferently.

Thank you fellow Bay Rummers!

Do you use any bay run scented soaps/creams? I have found I like certain combinations like Taconic Bay Rum Shaving Cream followed by Captain's Choice, as they compliment each other.

I love alcohol-based aftershaves, but unfortunately they don't get along with my skin. So I use Gilbert Henry Bay Rum Aftershave balm and its great! And it matches the scent of Mike's Naturals Bay Rum soap almost perfectly.

If I was to pick my favorite BR scent, it would be Krampert's Finest. Brian described it as being "buttery" and I completely agree; it is a rich, full-bodied scent. Gilbert Henry and Mike's BR is more melony/coconuty, very Caribbean.

It's a toss up between The Captain and Krampert's for me, both top performers. I've not tried a BR soap yet, but when I do it will probably be Mike's, unless Rod at Stirling has one by then.

Several good bay rums mentioned, but Krampert's is tops for me for the excellent skin care and not overly clovey bay rum scent.

I wish I liked Bay rum. Received a sample of a few different kinds, and to my nose all I smell is a "melted plastic" kind of scent. I don't know if it's the cloves. I imagined Bay Rum to have this rich, spicy scent...but alas, it does not appear that Bay Rum and I will ever get along.

I am a fan of Superior 70 AS. It is a simple lightly scented inexpensive AS. Until I recently ran out, I have used it daily for the last couple of years.

I also use Superior 70. I find that in warm weather Superior 70 also serves as a good splash just about anytime!

Put my order in for a bottle of Krampert's! Can't wait!!!!

For skin care nothing beats Krampert's Finest.
For longevity and scent Bourbon French Parfums is winner by far. (A local New Orleans walk in shop) I also have thier BR bar soap and enjoy it. http://store.neworleansperfume.com/
In a pinch Pinauds VIBR.
I've tried Suavecito and it was good. I used most of it to scent melted down VdH soap.

Lately I've started with the Krampert's then applied BFP over the top as a cologne. That is when I'm feelin' a little Bay Rum....lol

I am not a huge Bay Rum fan but I use Kramperts solely for the skin care properties (the Bay Rum scent just isn't my thing). If you are looking for a scented soap you might try Barrister & Mann's Bay Rum. I think it is a great artisan soap.

The only Bay Rum I've used so far is Krampert's, and I don't see a reason to try another... I love it, and so does my wife.

I find it combines well with Tabac soap and edt.

I think I'm going to buy the flask next time I need to refill.
