I think that you have several choices and that they are spread out around the country.

But, it would be interesting to see where are the replating companies in the United States.

Reliable Electroplating is in Chartley, Massachusetts and while I've never used them they have a very good reputation.

Do you need the plating service to be located in the Northeast US?

I'm in Australia and I send my razors for re-plating to the UK (http://www.restoredrazors.com) but I have also owned some re-plated razors by Krona Kruiser, who is a member here. He is in California and his work is great.

restored razors does amazing work in the UK, as does AboveTheTie in the US

before you think about sending it to RazorEmporium, do a search and make sure to read some of the horror stories.

as for local, I have yet to see a local replate that looks anywhere near what ATT and RR does. the do prep work and know razors, whereas a chopshop replater will not.

I'd also avoid West Coast Razors aka Dave Gorder aka ocrazorman aka Closecut61. Many of us have had bad experiences with him..not his replating but just his lack of communication and business practices in general.
As others have posted, I too highly recommend Dave @ Restored Razors in the UK. Shipping might take a little longer but he does excellent work.

I stand behind my work and we've replated thousands of razors for customers with overall terrific success.

That's good, but I have no idea as I've never used your services. The main reason being the many many bad experiences/reviews I've read over the last couple of years...mainly bad plating, the incorrect plating type, lost razors, the wrong razors being returned to customers, bad attitude etc.

We're not trying to pick on you, although I suppose it may look that way. We're just letting the original poster know, there are folks out there not exactly thrilled with the service they have received.
They can now go in well informed and with eyes wide open, before deciding where to spend their hard earned cash.

Good for you. But the stories i've heard about items being sold by accident, no apology, lack of communication, pay up front etc. Not to mention the replates I've seen from RE don't compare to the replates I've seen from ATT and RestoredRazors

Awesome reviews here and many, MANY more stories like this around if you look Undecided
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Razor_Emporium
http://www.bbb.org/central-northern-west...000018785/

I've seen them online as well as in person and the one I saw personally from last year was ok from far, but far from ok. parts under the adjust were not done and visibly not replated, detail lost etc. These reasons are why I always tell people to look around and avoid your replating services...sorry, but that's my stance on it.

I'll let the pics tell the story, I'm not sure how old these replates are by RE, I would not be happy with them in my den.
