ShaveNook members are the first to know! We have a mediocre size crop of both models, so get them while they are in stock!

Because I've already spent too much money this month, and I'm still looking for a Rooney Finest... But I've been wanting a Mergress XL for some time now! Rolleyes

My RAD just came back for a second, so just bought the XL version of the Mergress to add to the Mergress Long Handles razor I already own, and which performs great for me Smile

Also just had to buy the Ikon iSlant of course.....to add to my growing collection of new DE razors - I now own 42 new DE razors, 0 vintage Tongue

Thanks Lee for providing us with the Nook10 10% discount code.
Much appreciated.

Beautiful razors (though the plating might be Merkur standard), but above all fantastic shipping and service by Lee.

Congratulations Wim. I own both of these too. My preference is for the XL version, but they are both keepers!

I just had the chance to shave with the regular.
Found it a bit short indeed, and with a balance towards the head.

It is quite polished also, so I it took some time to find the good grip.

But after some trial and error this head gave me a very comfortable and close shave.
To my surprise, I found it quite manouevrable too.

I still have to figure out the settings, now I just kept it on 1.

No problems with the three piece construction, I thought it would be more of a hassle but it isn't.

These steel knobs look like an improvement to me, but I have no experience with the original.
Is that a plastic or resin knob? That could be very different and I imagine not better in terms of weight and balance.

Both most probably keepers indeed, as I have been on the hunt on and off for years Smile

I own the XL and the Long handled Mergresses and like both equally much.
The short one is too short for my hands IMHO

Wim, I set mine to 3 and that's pretty much where they stay. The XL is better balanced IMO too. The head heavy feeling you noted with the standard Mergress is exponentially noticeable with the Progress (which I sold).
