I just wanted to drop in to let those not-yet-aware that Shavemac's Finest is one of the best buys in badger brushes. This is especially the case when you consider that you can design the entire brush according to your preferences.

I received my Finest, 23/46, and it has a decent amount of backbone. It's kind of Duke 2-ish. The tips are soft and virtually no scritch, at least in mine. Excellent lathering and flow through. Hopefully, I can convnince Bernd to stuff the knot a bit more.

Thanks for keeping me honest! However, I apologize for the picture quality. The middle photo is the Shavemac on the left next to a Simpsons Classic 2 in best badger - just to compare the density. The bottom photo is the Shavemac Finest on an old rubber stamp carousel, and sandwiched between a Shavemac D0-1 2-band (left) and a D0-1 3-band (right).

Thanks for looking.

I have a Beehive with a finest bulb-shape knot. There is only one word to describe it, outstanding. In terms of price, quality and performance it can't be beat; its right there with my Rooney Finest, Simpson Manchurian and M&F blonde, but at a fraction of their cost.

Ted, I completely agree that the Shavemac Finest is a great buy and those knot dimensions are ideal, in my mind. Do you happen to have any pictures you would like to post? Wink

I just had a few brushes re knotted in finest. It really is the just brilliant. For the price, I can't believe it.

I just love the light tickle the hair gives me. 10/10 for me and won't be my last.

Bernd is also a true gent too Smile

Yes , I think the same.Great hair , basically is almost impossible to distinguish it from good quality silvertip badger hair (maybe the tips aren't as white , but the same softness and flow).

In the middle is my foroafeitado 2010 finest badger brush , with a Vie Long silvertip (right) and T&H silvertip brush (left). As you can see , the 3 look the same , have the same soft tips and excellent flow , but the shavemac is the cheaper of the 3 , even when it was an LE.

I bought my Finest based on Tesite's recommendation.
He was right - it might be the best brush buy for your money there is.

I recently acquired a Shavemac finest, and I agree it is a nice brush. Just as soft of most silver tips. It's become one of my favorite brushes.

Another thing worthy of a mention is the craftsmanship of a Shavemac. When you look at the cost of a finest, it's finished perfectly, not 1 hair out of place! Attention to detail is amazing for the price.
