I just noticed this new addition to the Penhaligons UK website:

http://www.penhaligons.com/sartorial-sha...oden-bowl/

I want to try this. But it looks like I must wait until it is available in the US. I look forward to hearing from someone in the UK who has had the chance to use this.

I'm keeping an eye on several Penhaligons vendors in the US. I notice some of them have listed new products in the Sartorial range, like beard oil, so I must hope the soap is soon to follow.

I've always been intrigued by this scent, so pretty much as soon as its available here, I'm ordering that sucker.

I can't wait...all of the recent good news on the updated formulation has given me hope of having a decent Pens shave soap very soon...just can't find any US vendors that can confirm they have the new formula yet

I just got off the phone with a Penhaligons USA customer service representative who returned my call from earlier this morning. He was very pleasant and helpful. He said that the Sartorial shaving soap is not yet available in the US but thought that it should be here in the next several weeks. He is expecting a shipment from Penhaligons soon.

I asked him about the reformulation. He said that he is fairly certain that all of the soaps had just been reformulated, including English Fern and Blenheim Bouquet. But he offered to call the London office to confirm this and get more details. He said he would call me back when he has more definitive information. He also mentioned that Penhaligons has been making a number of changes to their products.

I'll post more info as I receive it.

I posted this in another thread, but last night (morning in London) I spoke to Stephanie in the Penhaligon Office in London on an unrelated issue and she said that the new scents and reformulated soaps were not going to be available until second quarter 2014 in "outlying Areas", which I took to mean the USA. She said it may be sooner but could not elaborate.

Can someone confirm this?

I spoke with someone too today...sounded French....very helpful, said he is waiting on the next shipment to arrive in 4-6 weeks that should contain Sartorial and BB.

MOD EDIT: Group Buys are not permitted.

I would participate in this. IF, as mentioned here, Penhaligons doesn't plan to sell the new soap in the US until 2nd QTR 2014. Otherwise, I could wait for the shipment in 4-6 weeks that the French guy mentioned.

This is all very encouraging news regarding reformulated Penhaligon's shaving soaps. They appear to be making a serious effort to once again market a highly rated and respected line of shaving soaps.

Gentlemen, my Sartorial shaving soap has arrived this morning, but unfortunately too late to shave with. I have carried out a test lather though and there are no surprises-it is as good as the Blenheim Bouquet soap I reviewed last week.
Here are the ingredients of this soap along with the BB soap underneath.

Penhaligon's has done a fine job with this reformulation. I have no idea what the tallow soap is like but it would have to be something exceptional to exceed this new soap formulation. IT IS THAT GOOD!!!!

David, how do the new Penhaligon soaps compare to DR Harris soaps?

Amir, it's a very close call now between Penhaligon's and Harris. Never thought I'd say that!!! If I had to choose, I'd probably take the Harris, simply because of my love for their undisputed quality, but that's not to take anything away from the huge improvement Penhaligon's has made.
