I have some down time today due to "truck difficulties". I came across this photo some of you may enjoy. It sure brought back some great memories for me.

Roy Rogers & Trigger at the Alamo in 1943 (just a few years before my time).

This photo got me to thinking about Roy's movies and our 1950's and 1960's TV shows like Roy Rogers, Sky King, Zorro, Davy Crockett, Gunsmoke, Yancy Derringer, The Rebel, The Rifleman, Bonaza, Maverick, Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Death Vallery Days, Have Gun Will Travel, and on and on......

Did anyone else own a "Fanner 50"? Biggrin

Great picture. When I was a teenager growing up in Southern California, I went with my family to Apple Valley for lunch, and we went to the Roy Rogers Museum. We saw Trigger, stuffed and mounted for display. He looked just a little spooky to me.

Fortunately I was able to see Roy Rogers, Dale Evans,Trigger,etc in a rodeo in New York City when I was a kid. It was fantastic and I will never forget it. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, had a pair of FANNER 50's complete with holster - One of the best presents that Santa every brought me. Also received a pair of Roy Rogers cowboy gloves complete with fringe as a birthday present. A pleasant trip down memory lane in this thread.

I started going "strapped" at an early age.........Biggrin
