Found this while browsing for shaving related imagery - a rather neat and to the point explanation of how to do a 10 minute shave, dispelling the myth that traditional wetshaving has to take a long time.

Note to Europeans and other people used to measuring temperatures in °Celsius: use water between 40.56°C and 48.89°C.

Interesting. Add another 20 minutes to that for relaxation.

I guess a real men back then had alum and zinc sulphate on hand and little compunction about decanting a bit of his wife's rose water. He also needed no further explanation for "then filter" knowing full well it would then solidify.

I have never seen any type of instructions suggesting an ATG pass. I have eliminated this pass in favor of a DFS but to get true BBS, I must add the ATG pass.

That is a one pass shave. Could work if aiming for SAS (socially acceptable shave). Most of us do three passes or at least two. That would add 10 to 20 minutes to the routine. Sounds about right, though I spend another 10 or so minutes cleaning up and putting things away.

The real news for me was the recipe for styptic. love it!

Interesting read. "Brush teeth, clean fingernails, or buff shoes" I would think trying to brush your teeth with a face full of lather would be a bit problematic and if you got soap on your toothbrush that would be just Sad yuck.

I might try this method to see how successful it is. If it is, I'll have a new method to implement when I'm pressed for time.

Nice instructional! I agree it's weird that you don't see any of these saying to go ATG.

Nice touch converting the temp from fahrenheit to celsius.

Ahh ... to get an acceptable one pass shave. Not with my beard.
