So we were at the Cherry Creek Mall tonight and I was walking by C&E when I thought "Optometrist" (David) has been breaking the news on all of these UK soap "revival" formulas where the lather of years gone by has/is returning to our dens... so I grabbed a puck of Nomad and looked at the ingredients and noticed Potassium Palmate as the first one and remembered that this is the first ingredient in the new Pens and Floris formulations ... so I thought ... what the heck ... it's only $9.00 ... $9.00 for the chance this may happen .....

Lather explosion!!! This is not the lather from the dud West Indian Limes puck or the dud Nomad puck I had last year ... this is thick, slick and stable lather.... can anyone verify the ingredients in the pic above are different than a dud C&E puck you may have or have had?

Pretty nice surprise ... but then again the UK soaps are making a widespread comeback ... now for Trumpers to follow

Never had problems with the Nomad soap , but the new Sienna and West Indian Limes...terrible ! And actuallly I got a puck of the Sandalwood with Potassium Palmate as first ingredient which performed much better (skin care wise) than the one with Sodium Palmate as first ingredient.

When I was in a C&E store last month the saleswoman said Corporate had removed all their shave soaps. I don't know if they just weren't good enough sellers at that location or if they were preparing for a reformulation.

Well ... I know that I bought a Nomad last year that I tried to lather and simply could not. Maybe I am going crazy but this soap is solid. The girl at the Cherry Creek location said they had been discontinuing soaps and then bringing them back in the past 6 months.

who knows....but the Nomad last night was solid!

Hmm, I'd like to purchase a puck of Nomad eventually. After I finish my C&E Sienna probably.

My C&E Sienna features Potassium palmate as first ingredient, and the lather is great. Check this thread. Wink

I bought a puck of Sienna 6-7 months ago; I didn't know anything about the formulation, just thought it smelled great. I finally figured out how to get a decent lather out of it before I found about about this hobby.

My wife gave me a bowl of Nomad in May or so, I just checked the formulation on the box and it has Potassium Palmate as the first ingredient.

My aunt happens to work for C&E and she's told me she hasn't heard about them scrapping the mens shaving line; I email C&E and they told me that they don't plan to scrap it, rather they plan on expanding it - I guess it's a decent profit center for them.

Nomad and Sienna are both on my repurchase list. Great stuff for sure.

its a hard soap like DR Harris or MWF. I don't know for sure if it's triple milled, but I'd venture to say that it is.

They make a cream of it as well.

I just love the bouquet of the Nomad soap, it just doesn't agree with my water very much. The Nomad ASB smells wonderful as well.

Whilst I have tried C&E West Indian Lime cologne( and love it), I have never tried any of their shaving soaps because of the questionable formulation and performance. This is certainly another "on the up" brand by the looks of things, and great news!Biggrin

I finally tossed my puck of Sienna out with the garbage just yesterday morning. After 7 -8 tries to get a lather going and coming up with nothing each time i finally had enough. I love the smell of all C&E products but im still too frustrated with that last puck to even consider buying another one right now. Cant tell
you what the primary ingredient is because i chucked the box long ago.

I have a puck of Nomad in the wooden bowl. The problem isn't lather, it lathers like a champ, the problem is it has no scent. Or not much of one. But it functions great.

I purched a puck of Nomad in the wooden bowl off the bay because I read previous threads about the reformulation. I actually went as far as asking the seller what the first ingredient was on the box to confirm it was Potassium Palmate. This is my first triple milled soap and WOW am I impressed. This stuff just exploded into lather! I have a C&E outlet near me, so I'm going to be making a trip out there to see if I can pick up some old formulation product.

A recent puck of Sienna is the only shave soap I have ever thrown away. I kept the nice wooden bowl and filled it with a grated palmolive stick, very nice bowls. There is a store here in town that sells the C&E shave soaps so I might go try the nomad.

I was talking to C&E customer service and they told me that they reformulated their shaving soap pucks yet again because of complaints.

I noticed that pucks of Sienna and Nomad were no longer on sale so there might be some truth to this.
