I am trying the "Other Russians". I started with 4 great shaves using a Voskhod. Today I had my first shave with the Rapira Swedish Supersteel. It was a great start: sharp, smooth, close, nick and burn free.

Of the ones you have in the picture I tried all but Восход. All the ones I tried were excellent, Perma-Sharp being my favorite and Gillette 7 O'clock green and Silver Blue least favorite. Still, all are great blades. Perma-Sharps are just superior to all of these. Smoother, sharper, longer lasting and not much wax to clean off. Seems Russian made Gillettes (Astra is a Gillette product) all have too much wax on them. Sometimes so much that it actually gets on the shaving edge. I end up having to rinse it away with hot water (hot water melts the wax and makes it easy), but I'd rather not have to do it. Perma-Sharp Super are great and have practically no wax. Rapiras are also excellent, but not as sharp. I am okay with less sharp blades, BTW, I don't consider it a minus. I use them in aggressive razors like Fatip or dial my Progress higher for them and that works out great.

Your Red Tip would be great with a Perma-Sharp if you haven't tried it. It's still a pretty mild razor despite being the most aggressive Super Speed.

Enjoy!

I get excellent results from the Voskhod. The Rapira Swedish Supersteel is also a good blade for me. I recently received some Rapira Platinum Lux and expect good results from it.

+3! Phil threw in a bonus pack in with my last order from Bullgoose, and I think they're great so far.

Well, I had my 4th shave today with the Rapira Swedish Supersteel. All four have been very good shaves, even while getting used to the new Red Tip at the same time. They are very close to the Voskhod's, with a slight edge going to the Voskhod's...but I was also using my Maggard MR1 with the V's. I will be trying all the "new" Russians in the same razor.
