So my Simpson Chubby 2 in best from BullGoose just arrived and I had two days of growth ... so I pressed pause on our Saturday outing to Costco and decided to give this baby a go.

IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WANTING IN A BRUSH....the balance, size of the handle, weight and flow through are excellent. It lathered my C&E Nomad soap like a champ and did the same to my queationable GFT Coconut soap too.

Tell you what...the Chubby 2 coupled with Phil's service made me a very happy man today!

Ditto here ... except I got the Chubby 2 Super from BullGoose ... a magnificent brush that lives up to reputation, and great service as always from Phil! Biggrin

I tried a chubby 2 for a few days and sold it. It might have been a bad decision because it might not have even been broken in yet but i found that it was just TOO packed and really was just a wall of hair. The hair didn't bloom, separate or flex at all so it wasn't really to me liking plus it didn't seem to have very good flow through. Again, maybe because it was new. I was thinking about maybe getting another in Best to try it, sounds like it's slightly less densely packed and I just got a duke 3 in Best that seems more than soft enough for my liking. Too bad they weren't easier to find in 2 band.

Chubby 2 in Best is a great little brush.

Yes it's packed well with hair - but it's not really that dense.
Not compared to my old stock M&F 2-band Finest 30 mm at least nor when compared to my Chubby 3 or my Shavemac Custom made 2-Band 26 mm.

Value wise, even though considered expensive, this is one of the best brushes you can buy if you're a 'one brush only' kind of guy Smile

Glad you love the brush. I have recently obtained a Duke 3 in best, and I can honestly say that I love it as much as the Duke 3 in 2-band. My point is that I love Simpsons best grade of badger hair. Enjoy!

I just got one too and I've used it every day since! I'd really like to get one in 2 band with a jade handle or something.

It could just be me but I loved my Chubby 1 a lot more than the 2 that I had. The CH2 was too dense for my tastes but the Chubby 1 was absolutely perfect for me.
