This is news to me, don't know how long this has been up. I was just at the Proraso web-site and seen all types of goodness.
They have a blue package that caught my eye and I'm hoping it's a super menthol. It looks like the red was revived too.
Any vendors have any ino they can share or an idea of when this stuff will be available?

There is also a gray, it is in what looked like their soft soap container.
The blue is canned foam & the boxes are for the matching aftershave. I don't think it's super mentholated either. I believe it's aloe & vitamin c.

Well, you totally killed my buzz. Maybe the AS will be nice... Damn that canned goo. Dunno, maybe I'll try a can and see how it is. It's been so long since I bought a can of cream.

Jeff, no need for dispair! They reformulated, and almost everyone says it was for the better!
If you like menthol, then I have a hunch you'll be very happy with the green Proraso. Many of the guys who've been fortunate enough to score some of the Red version (sandalwood) have spoken very highly of it. I personally am patiently waiting for these to become plentiful at every one of our favorite vendors before I make my move. It's a bit early right now, but my time's coming.

Gary, I love menthol - I cannot get enough of it! Eventually, I suppose I'll have an urge to try the new sandalwood version also.

Proraso... the very first cream I used when I picked up DE shaving. I was lucky to get a very good shave with it and my skin likes it while other creams burn (I'm glad Proraso didn't burn on my first DE shave or I would still be using gel). I still have my first tube and I get some of the best shaves with it. Not sure why I don't use it more often and instead I keep messing around with all sorts of other things.
And now this, the reformulation... Hmm, how do I try them, you know just to compare, without breaking my self-imposed sabbatical? Or the hell with the sabbatical?

+1
I love the stuff. Great cushion and slick lather and to me it smells great! I think it's pretty similar to the AOS Sandalwood but I don't have a whole lot of sandalwoods under my belt yet... just TOBS and AOS... two completely different sandalwood scents.

The red Proraso is really good stuff, and I think it smells better than AoS or TOBS. To me it smells more like what I imagine real sandalwood smells like; it smells more natural, woodsy, earthy if you will.

Simple isn't always best. The new formula is better than the old, imo. And the Aloe and Green Tea is better for methan the regular. I would argue that people that don't like menthol would like the red, insofar as it performs as well as the green.
The biggest problem with a large variety is picking which one to buy. Take your issue with ToBS as an example and imagine if Eton College was the only thing they produced...

I have the New Proraso Green and like it a lot better than the older version. Plenty of menthol, lathers great, and to me at least, seems a lot slicker than the old version.
Johnny
I agree. The new formulation seems a lot slicker. Since having a new pot arrive 2 weeks ago I haven't reached for anything else since.
