How often do you purchase, or otherwise receive, something that is related to shaving?

Well, up until this year I received 4-5 packages per week. It was to the point I was on a first name basis with my UPS guy and I am positive my USPS lady hated me.

Lately though, I receive maybe 1 package every other month and it's usually something I need..as opposed to just AD induced purchases.

I have been getting a lot pickier with my purchases, but I bought so much in my first year of traditional shaving I really shouldn't buy anything until 2020. But I go through my stash weeding out products that I no longer have as strong of an interest in or products that weren't what I expected them to be and sell them off. Which creates another problem because then I have cash sitting in my Paypal account and other members offer great stuff that I want to try... Blush

Too often when I first started, but, now, it has abated and I only get new brush handles and knots along with soaps, but that is quite rare now. I must be getting old, or just darn comfortable with what I am using. Biggrin

It's been quite a while since I ordered anything after all we received from the Christmas donations while deployed and I still haven't put much time into an actual nook. I am getting ready to leave again as I'm changing jobs here within the Army and will have a small nook setup wherever exactly I end up for those four months. I look forward to trying everything I do have though!

I think that level of satisfaction and self-knowledge is what we all aspire to. Who ever thought of shaving as road to self-understanding?

Whenever I feel like it. Which is very rarely. Mostly software. No razors.

Now it takes a good sale to get me as I have more wares than I need. I've made two purchases over the last 8 months. IK Soap at $8 a puck and Gillette Silver Blues for $17 and changed per 100 shipped.

When I do my groceries believe it or not is when I get my shaving supplies. The local H.E.B. store has re-branded Personna blades and I'll grab two packs every time I am in there. How do I know these are Personna blades? Package states they are made in the good ole USA and Personna is the only razor manufacturer in the US!

I've gathered more than enough razors and brushes since starting wet shaving in late June (10 razors, 4 brushes, and 4 straights) of this year and just today was given my fourth straight razor. Biggrin

I seem to be getting something in the mail shave-related at least every week or two.

I'd say once a week I receive something in the mail. I'm set for a year or more. But if I find something I want, I buy.

I've been wetshaving for about a year and three months. For the first year, I basically bought whatever caught my eye in a frenzy of "must catch up, must try everything" mania. Then I hit the year milestone and decided that I wasn't appreciating what I had and the changes I had made, so I resolved not to buy anything until I actually finished a tube or tub of something I already owned.

Surprisingly, that worked, and I have only bought a couple of things the last few months. All that money saved can now be spent with reckless abandon when I go on vacation in Sicily next month. Cool

I went through the "gotta try this" frenzy as well at the beginning. I want to make it known that I did resist for quite a while while I learned technique. I don't regret any of those days because it laid the foundation for where I am today... very content with my shaves and gear. After nailing technique that AD frenzy taught me a great deal. When I was in that mode a few packages per week wasn't unusual.

Today I buy little. Mostly from the b/s/t and rarely. Lately I've bought some blades that I wanted some of, and I always wanted to try a horsehair brush and saw one on the b/s/t and after discussing it with the owner I thought it might work. These are my first shave purchases in quite some time- at least as compared to the past. :-)

I'm slowing down. I probably buy, have shipped 10 shaving related items per month. But like I tell my wife. Who's counting?!...
