Over a long period of time I have become a believer in the 34C as a smooth shave and exceptional quality design. It delivers every time unless I feed it a really bad blade.

I would love to know which Merkur models share this same exact head.... same blade gap..... everything. Especially in three piece razors as opposed to the twist two piece design of the 34C.

Thanks for your help everyone.Huh

I don't if it's exactly the same, but to my untrained eye (and face!) the Weber has a very similar head. It's also medium-aggressive like I find the 34c. I've never tried either the Edwin Jagger DE89 or Muhle R89 (basically the same razor) but it's reputation is more mild.

It's my understanding that the 33 is the same head in a 3 piece model

I am almost certain that all the Merkur safety-bar heads are all the same. I don't see them having different molds for their safety-bar razors.
I don't include the R41 2011/2013 models in here, of course.

The R41s are of course Muhles...not Merkurs. Wink

R41 (2011) is strictly Muhle's but their R41 (2009) head is made by Merkur. A great OC design that is much less aggressive. I have one and it is a very smooth and comfortable shave.

The head for the Merkur 41 C, which is better known as their 1904 open comb razor is the same exact head as the 2009 R41. It is ultra mild. Way too mild for me and I like mild to medium razors. IMO it's milder than the Edwin Jagger EJ DE89.

The 23c long handle uses the same head as the 34c. The name changes depending on where you buy it, most places it's 23c but Amazon it's the 180.
