Looks great. I think you will enjoy it.

What is the planned loft for it?

I just posted questions about customizing an STF. Your brush looks great, love the handle -- and the loft looks perfect. Best of luck with it.

That would be around 47 - 49 mm depending upon the source quoted.

Do you all think that is good for facelatherer with a 1st time synthetic user?

It will be tight, but there should be enough spring to allow for some splay. It should have good backbone. Synthetics need slightly more loft than naturals but the newer Gen 4 class has greatly reduced the difference between the two.

Gen 3 knots need more loft than Gen 4. Since yours is a current Muhle will be a Gen 4 so your brush should work out fine.

The shortest I have placed a Gen 3 (TGN 24 mm) was 49 mm and it worked out well for face lathering.

Rudy just turned an Olivewood Persian jar for me. I'm going with a 23mm STF at 49. Hoping that works out well for face lathering. I have a 21/50 STF and 21/52 so I'm hoping it works out well since I like the 21/50 better myself.

Beautiful brush. I don't have a synthetic yet, but am thinking of one. Rudy getting Muhle synthetic knots is a major development for us brush enthusiasts. If I get a synthetic it will certainly be a custom by Rudy.

On a separate matter, I understand synthetics need more loft to work well. But from what I'm reading, they don't need lofts as high as Muhle sets them in their brushes. I'm glad to hear people are getting good results from lower lofts.

Ricardo, they don't splay as much as many natural fiber brushes do, so the increased loft helps with that.

I have an absolutely huge Franks Shaving brush that definitely wouldn't work for me in any natural fiber I've ever used, but in synthetic it works great. From my inventory list: Frank Shaving Pur-Tech 28 x 54mm Gen 4 V2 STF black handle syn’. It's a monster of a brush, at least for me it is.

Boonie, what handle shape did you request from Rudy (or what was the model name he recommended)? I've seen similar before but they have a seam running horizontally around the base, below the ring. This is a cleaner design.

We used the M&F Chief design as the inspiration for this design.

Beautiful brush and that should be a great knot. Please post after using it and see how you like the loft. It is a bigger brush, 25mm, so that loft may work out quite well. Enjoy and thanks for the posting.
