I'm thinking it's time to finally add a Manchurian Simpson example to the collection...I have NO experience with this Simpson grade and am trying to choose between the Rover & Jubilee... They appear to have similar knots and equally unique and attractive handle designs...Can anyone help make my decision easier??? I like brush knots that are in the 21-23mm range with handles that tend to match well with their knot...I honestly like both handle designs...It would be amazing to see a real world side by side comparo if anyone can photo both together!?!? Any opinions on which brush takes better advantage of the hair's functionality/personality, or reflects better value?

The Jubilee is one of a kind and outstanding. I would pick that up in a heartbeat. I have the Rover in Best and love it, but the Jubilee is a cut above.

Jubilee has my vote!

It's unique and represents sound investment.

In terms of performance and feel, there will be minimal difference in the feel of the knot. The Rover has a longer handle.

Jubilee still available? I thought it was LE.
Not to make your choice more difficult, I'd choose an Emperor Biggrin

+1

I was in your exact spot a couple of months ago, and followed Ben's advice and got one, and DO NOT regret it at all.

Great looking brush, great performance, and it's not only a LE Simpson, as it is also the cheapest Manchurian you have, if I'm not mistaken.

Your choice has been made. Wink

Regards.

+1. I have a Jubilee and love it for all the reasons cited by Ben, et al. But, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm a big supporter of Lillabet's.

I will try to help out with a fast cell phone photo. [Image: Kp3b4Tc.jpg]

I prefer the Rover handle while using the brush but the knot performance is identical for any practical purpose.
The features of the Jubilee and the price difference make this an easy choice. If I were only able to have one, the Jubilee would be my choice by a large margin.

The Rover handle is very comfortable. Looking at those pics, the Rover gets my vote.

my vote is for the Jubilee.
It went out of stock for a short time but appeared few weeks after, this is the 2nd listing (if I'm correct).. and that was about ~2 months ago..I was mulling the same decision but the Rover wasn't available, hard choices now.

I believe the out of stock was just to restock the inventory because it says in the description, be prepared to take 7-10 days wait time, but I got an email that it was sent 2-3 days after so I have to assume it was just preparing the next batch, I've got #107 (as of 2 months ago)

Ah, good info...are you able to request numbers from what remains? Has anyone asked Mark? Or are they numbered simply in order, and you get whichever number is next in line?

I don't think requesting numbers are possible.. from all i've read, no one's seemed to mention it.. plus from the list/delist I don't think all 150 are present as it seemed to me it was made in small lots....
I was new to Simpson so wanted the Manchurian and the way you read about it, this stuff reads like its flying off the shelves but this is a commemorative brush, which makes me assume why it hasn't sold out faster. Personally I really like it, the coin is unique touch and she's living history.. even thou I'm not part in UK. The brushes/razors are all mostly from there so I don't see why not.. if you wan want to look that deeply into it LOL

if both were available at time of purchase, I would still get the Jubilee.... now only if the M7 comes back into inventory Wink

I tried that too, but they're just numbered in order, so you'll get the next one that is manufactured. Wink
