Hmmm ... very interesting, Ben. Thanks for sharing this information.

I wonder if Greg will also consider DLC versions of some the other iKon offerings, ie Slant ...

Wow! Just the open-comb version? It would be nice on the closed-comb version, as well.

If iKon is indeed planning to produce a Special Edition DLC Open Comb Razor, is it a fair assumption that they would have it available for sale before the Holidays?

A new DLC razor on the market could also provide the stimulus for Weber to reissue their DLC offering and perhaps for other manufacturers to follow with a similar product.

ATT is showing a prototype razor with a partial black head on B&B.

+1. I'd certainly be interested in a solid bar version.

The solid bar will be more aggressive then the OC.

* Harvey, from what I understand, it is a much more expensive and difficult process to apply the DLC correctly. I have never heard that you can apply it from a spray-can. I think it is a bit more elaborate than that from what I was told as it depends on the coarseness of the DLC that you intend to use. It would be great to have a better understanding of how this procedure is done if anyone knows more about it. Smile

I have the current oc and sb ikons.
The sb is definitely more aggressive, only slightly milder than the R41.

It probably the same head as the Deluxe OC that came out end of 2012'. The standard version was more aggressive by a long shot. The only difference now will be the DLC coating. So you will probably like this razor a lot. Greg makes his OCs on the mild side. Go figure.

Ikon definitely does their research and knows what consumers will buy, would be nice if the handle was DLC as well, not a big fan of the mismatch look.
