Should be interesting ... there is certainly increased demand for synthetics these days, as the quality of these knots has continued to improve.

Will that be in the same price range as the remaining Chubby 2?

In order to be competitive, I would imagine the pricing of a synthetic Chubby will have to be significantly lower than its badger counterparts.

Great news. So many questions:

Availability?
Price?
Will handle be identical to a badger Chubby 2?
Knot diameter?
Loft?
How is it different and better than the current Muhle and FS Pur-Tech?

I will definitely get one.

My best guess would be:

January
Competitive with Muhle
Chubby 2
Knot & Loft same as Chubby 2 is now

I saw this...but I just enjoy the two-band and manchurian so much I don't know that I could bring myself to give a synthetic a whirl.

But...who am I kidding. I've got SBAD!

* With the new Generation 4 synthetic fibres, you would be very suprised how great they are and work. I really enjoy mine even though I have some nice badger brushes and, some days, the way they generate lather so easily, I often wonder why I spend so much money on badger brushes! Biggrin

I'd just have to try one; there's no way I could resist. It turns out that I like huge synthetic brushes. If it has the same dimensions as the Chubby2 it would be a hair smaller than my recently acquired Franks Shaving Pur-Tech Gen 4, 28x54.

So how about a Chubby3 synthetic? Biggrin

I hope it doesn't have the glue bump like my FS Pur-Tech brush has. I'm sure it serves its purpose, but I really don't care for it.

Wow, this will gain a lot of interest. I would probably buy one for my first serious shot at using a synthetic.

I'm in for using one and I'm in for carrying them in the shop! Great looking Chubby and I've been a fan of syn brushes for over a year now, 3 in my regular rotation.
