I own a Manchurian and love it, but now I really want one if their finest brushes. I'd love to hear a comparison.

Very nice brushes! I like the coloring and finish of the handles ... decent looking knots too.

How many uses do you have on your Manchurian?

Thanks Gents!

The Wiborg perform well. They aren't ones I regularly go to...but I'm partial to Simpsons.

The Wiborg Manchurian are cloud-like soft. They feel super soft and pillowy...but they are a little on the floppy side. Granted, I am used to Simpsons Manchurian and 2 band. But they just don't have a ton of backbone. The lack of backbone and the presence of a bit of flop make way for a very soft facial experience.

I primarily use soaps when shaving, and so the Wiborg Manchurian don't whip up lather as quickly. The backbone issues aren't enough for me to scrap the Manchurian...it just keeps them in the cabinet more than some other brushes.

So, to answer your question about how many uses...not a whole lot.

The Finest 2-Band has a touch of scritch, good backbone, and good flow. These are packed less dense than M&F, Simpsons, and Rooney that I have. However, their 2-Band does perform well. It's great with soaps, and the handle ergonomics make it nice for bowl lathering or face lathering.

Here's kinda the way I look at it:

Finest 2 Band = Touch of Scritch, Good Backbone, Good Flow, Overall Good performer
Manchurian = Pillow Soft, Mid Flow, Hints of Floppy, Great with Creams

What I like about Wiborg is their design...you can't get anything looking like this with any other manufacturer. They really are cutting edge, bringing a really fresh look to some good brushes.

Did that answer any of your questions?

Thanks for the description. Looking for a nice two band and Thater has been at the top of the list. I'll have to dig a little deeper into the Wiborgs.

If you were speaking to me, Grant, I think I have about 5 or 6 on mine. I concur on the slight flop (although my BK8 is MUCH floppier) and very soft with the Manchurian.

Well dagnabit. I've been trying to find a suitable, easier to obtain, Rooney 2XL...
