The Simpson P8 TSN Exclusive

Simpson Shaving Brushes have created a Limited Edition brush for The Shave Nook that pays homage to the past. The P8 handle style, also known as the Phyl8, is directly out of the Simpson Archives – dusted off and revitalized for this very special project.

In the words of Mark Watterson, the Managing Director of Simpson, “The intention has always been to provide a first class, affordable shaving brush for Shave Nook members & Simpson fans. This project has been built upon a foundation of gratitude in an effort to acknowledge unrivaled support and to give something back to a wonderful online shaving community". On this, Mark delivers. In fact, he hit a home run.

Each brush is numbered & engraved individually 1 through 200 and they will become available in small batches of approximately 30 brushes.

There is a limit of one brush per customer and numbers cannot be reserved.

Approximate Dimensions:

Knot Diameter: 24mm
Loft Height: 48mm
Handle Height: 43mm
Hair: Simpson Best Badger (Hand Tied)

This brush will be available for order on a Members Only page soon. Estimated Liftoff -Monday, November 11th in the evening.

Here's the link to buy the brush (note, you need to be signed in before viewing the link)!

I'm not familiar with Simpson hair classifications; what is the best badger equivalent to - a 2band finest or Silvertip? From the picture it looks like a silvertip, but I don't know if that's what will ship.

In summary, Best is between Pure and Super and for many the Simpson's grade of "Best" is the pinnacle of that class of badger hair. For me personally I've always found the price to value sweet spot with Simpson's to be with the Best. They do Pure and Super all the justice they deserve as well, but the backbone and face feel as well as the flow through on their Best is ideal for me and my preferences.

Thank goodness for unlimited data plans on cell phones, as I am refreshing this site every 10 minutes. I hope it goes up after I get home (all forum sites blocked at work), because the cell phone isnt the fastest connection to punch through an order on

Thanks. That helped quite a bit actually. Will the handle colour be the brown resin material or will we have a choice as to what colour/material we can choose?

What is the brush going to say on it? Will it be just as pictured above? Will there be anything about TSN and where are the LE numbers going to be?

The first batch sold out in record time. The ordering system is reopened and orders can be place for another 165 brushes now. There could be a 3 or 4 week wait. Be patient.
