I walk at Langelinie and Kastellet in Copenhagen at least once a week.

Thanks.

I often wonder why you see all these 1000’s of tourists walking in Kastellet in Copenhagen and 9/10 times ‘my bench’ with the best view in Copenhagen is free.

I love to sit down and relax and have enjoyed this view from ‘my bench’ 1000 times or more:

I also often take a stroll to my local cemetery and a large bog area close to the cemetery.

Even though I live 5 km from downtown Copenhagen I thankfully still have access to a good deal of green areas.

These pictures were taken at the Artists Paintpots in Yellowstone NP. The portion of the loop trail around the pots is less than a mile. However, in this small area the diversity of the geology is amazing. Some pools/pots are clear; some are milky blue. Steam. Wonderful colors. These were taken with a Sony a58/Tamron 18-200mm.

Sunrise at Badlands NP South Dakota.

This is an amazing NP. The geology and landscape are one of those you gotta see to believe. If you are ever in Western South Dakota, this is a must see.

To me the prettiest time of the day at the Badlands is sunrise and sunset.

It certainly is.  High noon washes out the beautiful brown and golden colors.  One of my favorite places.

Thanks for the great photos of the Badlands.  In 2015, we ran the Crazy Horse Marathon in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and built a 10 day vacation in the state around that race.  It was a spectacular and memorable trip.  We spent several days in the Badlands, and the beauty is stunning.

Stunning picture Mike! Is that a filter or is the glacier water that blue? Banff is high on my bucket list but I'll be seeing it in winter after hitting the slopes at another bucket list destination Revelstoke.

It’s really that blue! Lake Louise, Moraine lake, emerald lake, waterfowl lake, bow lake... all that shade of blue as soon as the sun hits. Technically, Peyto Lake is in Jasper NP (separate entrance fee unless you have a parks pass), both Banff & Jasper Parks are worth visiting. If you get up there, make sure to drive icefields parkway if it’s open in the winter (that’s Alberta 93, the main northern thoroughfare), lots of good photo opportunities to be had. Summer and Fall are the best times to get the emerald blue water, late spring will have snow on the peaks - but the lakes will often still be frozen-over. The blue color is created from “rock flour” or rocks grinding under the pressure of the glaciers.

Very well done, Mike. Anyone can capture the blue of the lake with the camera in their phone. Your composition is excellent, and it leads the eye back into the photo with a great depth of field. It's not easy to manage the wide range of contrasts, and you did it well. Jasper is a nature photographer's dream.
