There are numerous sites which do reviews of cameras and lenses. Some are trustworthy others not so much. I take most everything written in photography magazines with a grain of salt as they are totally dependent on ad revenue from the companies they are reviewing.

Here are my favorite sites for checking out reviews.

Tops for bodies / sensors and right up there for lenses:
DxO Mark
On the top bar you will see pulldowns for cameras and lenses. DxO makes what most consider the finest software for correcting sensor and lens faults. They do extensive testing of everything they support and report a base summary for easy apples to apples comparisons.

For lens reviews the following two sites are highly recommended. Please note, when reviewing third party lenses, you may need to look at another camera's test results with that lens. e.g. If you want to know how a Tamron 90mm VC macro fairs and you own a Nikon, you'll not find it under the Nikon section but the Canon section. Since they only buy one lens to test and there are several different camera mounts in the world, you may not find the lens being tested on your camera brand.

http://www.photozone.de/ (yes it is a German site, but it's in English)
and
http://www.lenstip.com/ (http://www.optyczne.pl/ is the Polish main site)

The reviews are easy to understand and unbiased.

More to come.

Thanks for sharing these links, Doug.

I've used photozone.de before, and agree that it's very informative.

I usually use DPReview as a starting point, then I hit the forums. However, I'm not really in a position to really splurge on photography equipment, so my searches are few and far between.

Agreed on DPreview for the actual reviews. I am not a fan of their forums, but the reviews are nicely done.

+1 on DPReview, although I haven't been there in years. I also check LuminousLandscape.com from time to time.
