In case you haven't heard, Central Illinois was hit by a bunch of tornadoes. I live in Peoria and all the damage was on the east side of the river stretching from Pekin to Washington. Washington got the worst of it.

A big portion of Washington was destroyed and tons of people are homeless. I'm going to Washington tomorrow to see what I can do to help.

Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the storms. You never think it will happen to you or someone you know, until it does. My sister in law and her husband live in Washington and from what I can tell of the pictures had a good portion of the back wall of their house ripped off.
Thanks for taking the time to assist.

I hear about this yesterday, while watching a hockey game. My thoughts will be with all these towns and people that were affected by this.

It really is incredible how devastating the weather can be, at times. I hope the folks can find comfort and safety in the coming weeks.

will be praying for that area- I caught a glimpse of how strong that weather front was, while watching the Bears game... it was delayed and the game lasted over 5 hours.
you could see how swirly the winds were just by looking around the stadium on tv.

But for one or two touching down in my county, we got lucky. This will be a hard winter for those rebuilding.

Gods speed to the lost.

The Chicago area while, not as hard hit as other parts of the state, counted at least 15 separate tornado touch downs during a two hour storm. Illinois and Indiana counted at least 65 tornados hitting ground.

From 1950-Saturday, we (Illinois) had a total of 12 tornados hit ground. Think about that for a minute.

My thoughts and prayers to all who suffered losses yesterday.

Being a New Orleanian I know all too well the nature of their plight. My prayers are going out to those who were affected. It will take some time to pull it back together but when it does, things will be bigger and better than before. It's amazing to see the resiliency of human beings. Hang in there. It's very rough right now, but as things smooth out all will be well. It's easy to replace "THINGS" it's impossible to replace loved ones. God Bless....
