I've been shaving with Barbasol and a Gillette Sensor razor for 30 years and it just hit me the other day...I need to try something different! So as I watched college football all day Saturday, I scoured the internet and started reading this and other forums about shaving. Hours later, I started narrowing down possible choices for a new DE razor, blades, a brush and soap. My research and preferences led me to order a new Merkur 25C, Simpson Case best badger brush, Lord Platinum blades and a couple soaps (MWF and Proraso Menthol & Eucalyptus) to start off my new "hobby!" (I've already made a list of a few more soaps that I'd like to try down the road...Tabac, Cella, Mike’s Lime and TOBS Almond. Plus Joe at ItalianBarber.com told me their new RazoRock XXX formula will be out in 10 days!)

I thought I'd join a couple forums and see what all I can learn about the art of shaving!!

But remember this, collecting all the different goodies is the hobby, wet shaving is a way of life.

Congrats on your new hobby. I started out with DE blades and canned goo and moved to cartridges after that. I was such a fool.

Welcome to the Nook.

It's addictive that's for sure, but it sure makes what was once a chore into something you look forward to.
