I've been paying attention to my blade selections and it seems as though I tend to learn more towards stainless steel blades Rapiras and Platinum Feathers more than anything. I am curious about fellow shavers preferences, whether it be by preference or just what works best for you. I'll leave this open as long as I can, so I can get a continually broader view of peoples preferences.

edit: corrected title to be more specific.

Well, my SE GEM SS are ptfe coated so I voted polymer. Are the Med Preps and Gillette 7:00 Yellows coated? I don't know and the package doesn't say.

Stainless and Carbon Steel aren't coatings. Indeed you will not find any stainless steel razor blade out there, which hasn't at least a PTFE-coating. Without, a shave would be tugging and painful. Platinum/Chrome adds durability.

My preferred blades are the Personna Super "Lab", which is stainless steel with a "comfort coating" and the Voskhod, which is Teflon coated. I voted "Other".

One of my favorites is the Personna medical blades and I think they have the platinum coating. Also I like the Astra and Gillette Super Thin.

Since I am new to DE shaving I have only tried the Derbys that came with my EJ razor. I have no problems with them but I am thinking about trying the Astra Green next.

+1Wink

Although I really like both Shark varieties I find that my Israeli Blues with platinum + -whatever the hell that is- are working best for me so far. They work well in all my axes; plenty of blades can't do that for me.

To answer the question asked: PTFE
You'll find it on almost every blade currently in production.
