Hi, everyone. I just found this forum a wee or so ago. I am also on B&B as many of you. I started DE wet shaving a few months ago after having tried it in my youth about 20 years ago. Back then there was nothing like this to learn the ropes from. So I gave up and shaved with cartridges and goop for many years. Hating every shave I got. Recently before starting DE shaving I switched to an electric and that was terrible. So, I finally started looking for alternatives to the $4/cartridge that I hated and I found the DE world. What a discovery! About three months in I am getting pretty consistent BBS or DFS every time, I love the process, I love the community, I love the soaps and brushes, I love the hardware. Just amazing little secret that most of the world (judging by countries of origin of DE blades) is still enjoying.
So, hello to all fellow wet shavers and thanks for maintaining this community. I already learned a lot from here and B&B.
Enjoy your shaves!

Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome. I've really been enjoying the wet shaving conversion. I have found that community around wet shaving is very supportive, generous and well informed. Thanks for sharing your experiences and I hope I can contribute as well by my own experiences. I have learned a huge deal in only a few months. One of the first things I learned is that it was somewhat unfortunate that I bought my first "kit" before I found any of the online forums. The first one I found was B&B after I have received my stuff and started using it. I did not go wrong in my choices, but I had no idea that vintage shaving gear is so widely available, so good and so inexpensive. I bought EJ DE89BA, which is a more expensive version of the regular old EJ89 (about $45) and a store brand (Royal Shave) best badger brush. I now shave with mild vintage Gillettes (Techs and Super Speeds) and occasionally with the EJ. The brush I originally bought is almost never used. Simply too big and soft. I use pretty much only two brushes: the Simpson Wee Scot and Omega 10275 boar and I love these two brushes. Omega is very well broken in now and is simply lovely to use for face lathering. I could have bought two or three Semogue boars for the price of that Royal Shave brush and I know that I would enjoy the Semogues much more as I am now becoming more and more a fan of boars. Especially since I found the Nook. Seems there are some boar devotees here and I have learned even more about boars.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
