Do you set a limit to your purchases or how much you keep in your den?

I try, Ringo. I try...real...hard.

Actually I've been trying to use one soap at a time. I have a large ceramic mug from Classic Shaving that holds a full-size soap puck at the bottom. So what I do is fill the mug with the soap and my brush with hot water while "do my thing" and then go from there. It helps build lather very quickly and the heavy ceramic mug keeps everything nice and toasty throughout.

Since I only have one of these mugs, I can only use one soap at a time, so that sets a limit on the number of goods I have.

I have a set number of razors and brushes, I sometimes buy or trade stuff but a new one in is a old one out, I know that I'll reach for what I like the best anyway so no point in keeping things around that only get used once in a while. If something is really fantastic I buy backup(s) just in case.

I believe everyone tries really hard, but most of us fail miserably in the attempt. Biggrin

I do not, but my wife does. Hope she never looks in the box on the top shelf of the haul closet.

No, I'm to weak to set limits. Besides, my wife encourages me to get more stuff. What's a guy to do?

it escalates - but in the bath itself are only 1 razor - 1 brush - 1 soap - 1 after the shave. i have a secret room for the rest. so - on the outside i seem minimalist - but it's a scam Cool

Limit? Yes, I limit myself to only contemplate limiting/reducing my shave arsenal once a year and no more! Biggrin

I try to keep just what works well for me.
That said, I enjoy trying different things to see how they work for me. So I usually have a high turn around rate.

Limit? That's funny!

I'm limited by space. Other than that nah.

For the last couple years, I have been working on getting down to soft limits of:

12 brushes
6 different razors
6 soaps
2 blades
A few aftershaves
1 balm

...so that I can enjoy each one more. The collection was uncomfortably large for me. Almost there!

No limit. I loved what Johnny said, hoping his wife doesn't see his haul. Mine is in the bottom drawer of the wardrobe in my oldest daughter's room (it's a guest room now). Thinking that I'll need to reinforce the drawer due to the weight of the soaps, creams, razors, 1000 razor blades, etc
