Well the NOS Para Professional 8/8 Novodur turned up with it's original factory edge took a few photo's before she hit's the hones, got to say she looks fantastic, only thing she came in a EPBD box so I'm on the look out for an original Novodur Para Professional box, I was expecting a duty fee plus parcel force fees of around £90 I had already excepted this when I made the deal, great news she just sailed under the radar no duty postie just handed her over. :-)

Beautiful razor there Jamie. How you find these gems is mighty impressive. Well done on not getting fleeced by Parcelfarce too.

Pure luck really Jody, I happened to be up quite early around 5am and decided to look on ebay, just so happened the razor came on auction within a few minutes with no bids so I made the seller an offer much lower than what these Novodur usually go for and he agreed, he listed it as a buy now and I hit the button, I've just finished honing the razor and she took a great edge ready for tomorrows shave.

She's arrived, Jamie, and a stunner too!
You should have tried the factory edge first. They are excellent.

Jamie, you could try a test shave and see what the factory edge was like. All my vintage NOS German razors had a great shaving edge. My vintage NOS Japanese ones didn't quite have a shave ready edge.

I did test the edge Robert, and noticed she was a little off towards the heel in sharpness, on saying that though I don't need much of an excuse to hone one of my razors.Smile

Cheers Michael, she sure is a beautiful razor and just like my other Filarmonica Especial 14 8/8 they all are great shavers, I had been on the look out for this model for sometime so I feel very fortunate to have found one, but to find a NOS well that's very rare indeed.

Jamie, my dear friend, your new Filarmonica is glorious. At one time I had several Filarmonicas and, foolishly, sold them. I still kick myself in the tokhus.
Good show.

Thank you Obie,It's a pity you didn't hold on to them, the way the prices are heading they would have made a very good acquisition towards your pension fund.
