I was PIF'ed a OCMM and some blades. What a nice razor. And thanks to the person that gave me this razor. Here is the setup:
OCMM
Gem PTFE-coated blade
VDH boar brush
Stirling Sharp dress man soap
Krampert Bay rum
[Image: vqBI7Au.jpg]

I knew after the first pass this shave was going to be different.
So I did 3 passes WTG, XTF and ATG. Was not a BBS but definitely a DFS. I think once I get use to the angle it will be a great shave. To compare it to DE it would be comparable to the Cadet OC. It was just as aggressive but a lot smoother. I had no nick or weepers. I did have maybe some razor burn, but that could be because I am still new and getting use to the angle. I used Krampert's finest Bay rum aftershave. Now this dies not burn like other aftershaves. So its had to tell sometimes if I have any razor burn.
I can't wait to try this razor again. I like it very much. I've read I can get at least 10 shaves per blade so that should be interesting.

It is definitely a keeper.

Ron, this is great to hear. Well done! I agree that your shaves should only improve as you get the angle dialed in. Some users find they get better shaves on a particular blade after 3-4 shaves. I am one of those who routinely get 14 shaves from a single blade.

Don't neglect the wisdom in Mr Guy's YouTube video on the OCMM, it will serve you well. Another thing you may notice is how close and long-lasting the shave is.

Again, well done and thanks for sharing.

Ron, congratulations on finding your "keeper."

If you've been hit by the SE bug, you must try the Cobra...

That shave was last night. Tonight's shave I have to say was a little smoother.

OCCM, the original TTO still getting it done and leaving that WOW factor after the shave. I just advise not to get cocky after a good first use with this razor for the minute you disrespect her she will strike with a vengeance. Deftly wielding this razor though puts you into some esteemed company as it is not for everyone. Congrats on a great shave!

Congrats on a successful 1st outing with one of the smoothest and finest SE's out there. The ER 1914 is also a very smooth shaver, so you may enjoy that razor as well.

Well 3rd shave was not good I tried to use a more shallow angle and did not get a good shave. 4th shave was great used a more steeper angle and listened to the razor shave was a DFS. But still no nicks or weepers. Less razor burn than the 3rd shave. A technique to learn.

Ron

Keep at it, you are doing fine Ron. Sounds like using the more intuitive angle and listening to the razor was helpful. Make sure you are using high quality lather (not too thick, not too thin and airy) and that you are not applying too much pressure. The OCMM is certainly "tameable" and your efforts are worthwhile. If you have a pretty bad outing, it might be worth taking a day off because even if your following shave is good, it can be hard for your skin to recover.

The 3rd shave was not terrible. Hairs was not cut very good, a lot of stubble left and my face got some razor burn from trying to clean up. But there was no nicks or weepers. But the 4th shave was good. I used a steeper angle and listened to the razor. I do compare the shave to a Cadet OC but it would leave my face feeling like it was a little raw but not be red. But with the OCMM I don't have that feeling and still get a close shave.

Ron; I've noticed that a new blade in a SE or SE injector are not always smooth as I would like but seem to mellow out after a couple shaves.
