Does anyone know whether or not Lee Sabini or Bernd at Shavemac will knot a vintage handle with a customized choice of hair?
Of course I will ask them, but I wondered if anyone could tell me.

This is why I love this hobby. Our brush makers make themselves so accessible, you can get top quality knots installed directly by the manufacturers. I concur with Mark, and have seen that Bernd and Sabini do re-knots, as well as Plisson and Kent. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the work that Mark and his teams at Simpson and Vulfix have done in this regard as well.

That's good to know, thank you.

Thanks Mark. I assumed, for some reason, that you did NOT do this kind of work. If you do, then it could effect whatever my decision is. Thanks.

I know for a fact that Lee, Bernd and Mark have all re-knotted brushes for their customers.

What better way to honour a brush than returning it to the manufacturer for restoration...

I have seen that Rudy Vey can also install a Shavemac knot, this would keep shipping cost down. I would like to get a custom from Rudy with a 2 band D01.

That would be an excellent choice. Just have to be patient breaking in the D01 2-band.
