Gonna be looking for some hard to find shaving stuff, as well as some inexpensive rum.
Anything specific you guys know of that I should be on the lookout for?
Not much regarding shaving related stuff in the islands.
Is San Juan you can find a Bay Rum that has been produced there for more than a century. It is called "Bay Rum Superior 70". Besides its use for shaving, it was always used for sore muscles ... sort of a local BenGay substitute.
If you are looking for quality rums, you may find "English Harbour 1981" (distilled in Antigua) at a reasonable price. Even then it's kind of expensive but (for me) the best Rum anywhere. It is fruity, with wood and tobacco, backed by a myriad of spices. English Harbour Reserve 10 Year is also good.
From Puerto Rico, and better priced, I like Ron Don Q Añejo 12 años ... it brings back memories of my times in the island. You'll find this for sure in San Juan. Although not tops level it's not a bad rum with a better price.
By the way, if you want a sweet snack while walking about old San Juan, and happen to go past "La Bombonera" (San Francisco street) stop and get a "mayorca" ...

... just delicious with a good puertorican coffee. They have been there since 1902, and their coffee machine dates from 1898!!
