Hi Guys,

I know there are a lot of Replating services out there and the threads lead off into many directions on all the forums, But today Im looking for a specific answer and hopefully someone can answer it.

Im looking to get an all Aluminum razor TTO replated in Rhodium Ive emailed or msg a few replaters either they can't do it or only do certain metals.

Could you help me find a Replater that is highly recommended and is able to aluminum with rhodium.

Thanks very much.

Try Dave Glynn in the UK, at restoredrazors.com. I've had 3 razors re-plated by Dave now and I thoroughly recommend his services.

Well I have now talked to ATT and Restored Razors, They both have said they can't replate Aluminum.

The thing I don't understand is The razor is Aluminum but it was originally plated in Rhodium so How did Gillette Plate the razor?

If anyone has any helpful ideas on who can or will replate let me know.

Much appreciated.

Thanks for the idea of Dave at Westcoast razors, Ive tried to email him quite a few times but no reply from him.

If Dave Glynn and Stan say they can't re-plate Aluminium there will be a very good reason.
I'm guessing it's not like brass or steel to do.
I can recommend Dave Glynn he's done a few razors for me quality work.

I didn't even know aluminum could be plated. The finish is usually polished, painted, or anodized, AFAIK.

You sure it's aluminum?

Ive found a replater to do the job, Yup the razors aluminum its the 37g Gillette Aristocrat #66.

The head has been anodized over the aluminum then replated with rhodium same with the knob and the TTO the handle well....Im not to sure but its sure shiny and never tarnishes so I assume its rhodium as well.

Thanks everyone for the help.
