My Better Half stumbled over this, and over dinner we decided to do a slightly modified version of it this year; we're tacking a zero on the end, since the Norwegian krone is worth somewhat less then the US dollar.

Now, we don't have a plan for what to do with the money at the end... but almost 1400USD would buy a fair bit of shaving gear Biggrin

If I was to do that, I think I'd start with the reverse challenge of $52.00 and work my way down to the $1.00. That way, I'd get the worst pain of saving over with early and would be more likely to see it through to the end. In other words, the weekly savings becomes less onerous with each passing week.
