Barbear Classico Mistura by Semogue

Right out of the box I could tell I was going to love this little brush.

The wood handle is as comfortable as it is beautiful.

I already own a number of previous versions of the Badger/Boar mixed knot.

However, Semogue have excelled with this incarnation.

The tips are softer.

The knot is more yielding.

It blooms more freely.

And most surprising to me, it is extremely approachable right from it's first use.

I have no information supporting my claim,
but I believe the quality of hair exceeds its previous versions.

Please, join me on this brush's maiden lather...

First bath...

Excess water shaken off...

Introduced to a little Cella...

The Mistura held more water than I expected given the smaller knot
(compared to the SOC SE)

Lather within seconds!

A drop more water...

Wonderful, effortless results!

The team at Semogue and Barbear Classico sure knew what they were doing!
This is a lightweight brush that punches well over its investment weight...

Get one if you can!
If not, be sure to pounce on Semogue's next version.

Hello Ben, please let us know how your Mistura compares to the Texuga when you have cleaned & test lathered a few times... "Photographs would be great Pre/Post".

Finally it arrived! Aaaaa

That is a beautiful piece. The grain of the wood is lovely in that particular unit, and makes that brush a beautiful thing to look at. Smile

May you enjoy it for many years!

I've used it this morning and am continually impressed by this little brush and the Semogue Badger/Boar mix brushes.

Emanuel, your are quite right my friend the grain in this particular handle is outstanding!

Andi, I've always been impressed with the Semogue mix knot, but this particular brush has surpassed my expectations after a single use!

Beautiful brush and your pictures are superb as always.

Now I'm kicking myself even more that I didn't pull the trigger when I had the chance. Oh well, I have a 2012 SOC SE on the way from the States...Biggrin

Will do Charles. I'll attempt some pictures and share my impressions after the weekend (as I'm busy working Saturday and Sunday).

Charles, I've used both the Texugo and Mistura once each (after a few test lathers with both).

The Mistura is softer than previous versions (but still provides sensation against the face) and is a lather MONSTER.

The Texugo is AMAZINGLY soft at the tips, yet it has WONDERFUL backbone. It's a LUXURIOUS dream to use!

I love the mixed knots, but the BC Mistura seems to be the best to date. I believe the difference is the latest batch of badger hair. If it's the same as the BC Texugo, I can certainly understand why. The BC Texugo has wonderfully soft tips and ample backbone. IMO it is reminiscent of the original batch of the famed "gel tipped" Rooney Heritage 2 band hair (minus the curled or barbed ends). VS has 8 units left, if you like soft tips and ample backbone, this small brush is an absolute delight to use and is a face latherer's luxury dream come true.

Wonderful, ben!

Now you need a SOC 2-band, with that very same type of hair... Wink

Maybe Emanuel, but I really like the size of the BC!

In fact, I'm actually considering a back-up Texugo! Biggrin
