Right now I use Proraso Which seems to really dry my skin out. Mix that with winter, and yeah you see my point. Anybody have any reccomendations.

P.S. I would like to avoid Tallow based is possible. Something about animal fat in my soap that does not sit well with me.

Do you use after shave products? You may want to consider Unrefined Shea Butter as a post shave treatment. Several of us here use it and have terrific results.

Shea butter you say. so what? Just dab it on as an aftershave?

Rub a little between your hands then on your face just as you would lotion.

I'm sure you can find it depending on where you live. I get mine at Slice of Nature: http://www.amazon.com/Slice-Nature%C2%A9...B0017SQ3B4

Also, read the Shea Butter thread here: http://shavenook.com/thread-unrefined-or...hea-butter

Just as Randy and Ravi have mentioned, the unrefined shea butter might just be the best remedy for your dry skin that you will find. You can use it on any part of your skin that is dry.
Best of luck. Smile

The most moisturizing soaps I've used are Institut Karite and pretty much any scent from Saint Charles Shave.

Pre de Provence and Provence Sante are Shea butter based veggie soaps that are nice and moisturizing. And of course there's always MdC.

here's a modified definition, applicable to TSN members ...

'binge'
...
verb (binging, binged)

indulge in an activity, especially shaving and shaving related acquisitions, to excess: he binged on shaving items.

I am surprised this hasn't been brought up before. When the weather turns driest here, I reach for Da Fat (MWF). Tallow and lanolin??? It leave my face feeling great all day even on sub-zero days.

I agree with MWF... Outstanding post shave feel. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for everyone.

If I may, I'll also include Mike's Natural to the list of moisturizing soaps. I find they perform wonderfully for me from that perspective.
