Hello everyone, I've been a lurker of the forum for a while and have finally decided to join. I'll start by talking a little bit about myself. I'm 20 years old and I've been traditional wet shaving since May of 2013. I currently have a Futur, a Merkur slant, Muhle R41(2013), 1960 Gillette fatboy, 1958 Red tip, and an EJ89.

I am currently looking for a razor that is more aggressive than a DE89 but slightly less aggressive than an R41. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Hello and Welcome, Ken.

Have you thought of a Fatip? It's in the aggressive side of the spectrum but less than the R41.

I love both of mine, specially paired with a Weber Bulldog.

Welcome to TSN, Ken.
You already have a Merkur slant, so have you considered a 34 or a 42? I started with the EJ 89 and found it too mild. The Merkur 1904(42) is my preferred.

Thanks for the warm welcome,
I was actually looking at the fat tip earlier, but recently saw a video where the user had weepers all over.

I have really been considering the 34, but have read on the forums that the head is very similar to the DE89 head.

Welcome to The Shave Nook, Ken! Smile

You have a Futur that is adjustable which should give you what you are looking for. However, if you do want another razor, then the FaTip or even a Weber PH would be what you may want. Best of luck.

Welcome to TSN!

+1 on using different settings on the Futur & the slant would fall in that gap for me also.
