No, I don't plan on using the Ever-Ready 1914 Little Lather Catcher all year long. However, I am starting with an initial goal to use it for every shave of its birth year leading up to its registered patent date of March 24, 1914.

I'm not looking for others to join in this campaign with me but if it sounds like something you'd like to do, then I'll certainly appreciate the company. With this amazing razor becoming a centenarian soon I am looking forward to giving it some well earned praise. I ask that anyone who has an ER'14 to reserve a spot for it at least on March 24th. We wouldn't want to create a disturbance in the force by not shaving on the appropriate day with the appropriate razor now would we?

MCMXIV FTW in MMXIV!

That's pretty neat, Brian! I'm sad to realize I missed my chance with my 1907 Single Rings and GEM 1912s...but maybe there is still hope for me with my GEM 1924?

Best wishes, and I think several will join you. If I have a 1914 then, I will join you.

I've joined you in using the '14 not everyday, but in a bigger role for the month. That's the best I can offer. So far for this entire year (somehow that sounds much larger than it really is), it's been with the '14. But I have the R41 sitting there just looking at me so forlornly. As if to ask, "But what did I do to be ignored like this?".

The '14 is a nice razor. Very well behaved, feels much milder than it actually is, and gives a great shave. I just wish it was a bit "wilder". It doesn't test my technique at all. I guess I like a razor that if I screw up, it let's me know it. That's how I get to be a better shaver. The '14 is tame, but a fantastic shave results from its use. It's definitely a nice piece of shave hardware. It's use results in an easy BBS.

I'm not going to go exclusively with the 14, but I'll boost it way up in the lineup. Especially now that I got my "pretty" 14 to work right.

Brian, although I agree that the nineteen fourteen is the top dog in the SE world, I cannot commit to just her when I have all these beauties to choose from! :-)

Jeremy, that is a lovely collection and just an amazing photograph of them all together. If they all shaved me well then I too would have trouble committing to the ER'14. However, as it is the ER'14 is just so much better (obligatory "for me") that I just don't have any desire to use the other razors I have. These shave have just been flat out enjoyable and even before I found her I enjoyed my shaves. Since though, things have reached an entirely new level of bliss.

Wow, Jeremy! That is a beautiful collection!
I really wish I could use SEs as I just find them so much more practical and substantial than DEs! Unfortunately, my skin doesn't get on well with any of the blades. I wish I could use a DE blade in them! Biggrin

I wish you could use them too buddy! But, your DLC's would be upset to see you using anything else. ;-)

Jeremy, that is one lovely picture showcasing your SEs. Cool

Brian, I have not used my ER 1914 yet and think now will be a good time to take it out. Don't know how many days I will join you in using it but it totally makes sense to use it on the centennial anniversary of its patent date of March 24, 1914. Biggrin I mean, how many such opportunities do you get. Smile

Roopesh, I think you will really like the 1914 when you do use it. Brain & I both find it to be the superior of all the SE razors. Yes, even better than the streamline in regards to shave quality. :-)

Inspired by Jeremy's lovely arrangement of SEs, here is my attempt: (makes me wonder how he pictured them so beautifully though. My)
