New iKon ShaveCraft handles...

"...2 new Shave Craft handle designs, the smaller tuckaway design will remain the same and the longer SE (special edition handle) will have a slight modification made to it."

the smaller version looks nice - but stainless steel handles are generally way too heavy for my taste so i am curious about its weight (and length).

Very interesting, Ben ... thanks for sharing this.

I have always preferred shorter handles, and this one has some nice detailing.

I like the longer handles and like the look of that one.

Is there a release date for the DLC heads yet?

The short handle is very nice. Do we have confirmation that the head is DLC, or just the color black ? I remember Greg releasing a blue colored head a while back, just wondering Angel

The handles are very nice in particular I like the long handle. Regarding the head it could be powder coated which is very strong similar to the black razor from "Standard Razor"

I probably would choose the longer handle. It's great that iKon continues to bring out these new products.

The Shavecraft 101 head, in my opinion, definitely shaves better with a longer handle.

I don't like the looks of that handle, though. I use it on a Tradere handle.

(Also, the head on the short handle is not a Shavecraft 101 head.)

The handles are both part of the ShaveCraft range.

The head on the tuckaway is the Deluxe Open Comb and the head on the longer SE handle is the 101...

Do you know if the heads are coloured or DLC coated?

DLC is my guess.

In November 2013, Greg stated:

"Possible Special Edition ~ "DLC" ~ iKon Open Comb Razor - stay posted"

And posted this pic...

When I corresponded with Greg yesterday I referred to the heads as DLC and was not corrected...

Thanks for the reply.

The Ikon oc on the old OSS handle is my go to razor.

Looks like I will HAVE to replace it with DLC version.

These are interesting, Ben.
It definitely will be interesting to see if they are actually DLC. I still would be interested to see if these heads can compare to the Weber DLC ones. I am a bit of a skeptic as the Muhle Jet has proven not to be comparable, in my opinion.
However, there is always hope! Smile

I doubt it's Duracoat. It seems unlikely to me Greg would bring out a product with a different coating from what the market wants.
