So I really never could get a close and pain free shave with any of the DE razors that I have owned (Mergress XL, Muhle r41, many different Slants including all vintage models of Hoffritz and the iKon), Fatboy, Slim, and all kinds of others --- so with trepidation and in a bit of a frustrated moment I went with a drastic change in direction and thought I would use straights .... Which I did, have learned and still enjoy on a lazy Saturday or Sunday .... Then I backpedaled to the Cobra Classic and found a very enjoyable shave .... So I thought I was set.

But then I see Celestino's shave of the day pics and wonder for the past few months --- what is a Weber DLC... I mean I swore them off to where I never even visited the DE forums, now I realize I totally missed the Muhle Jet because of that blunder. Smile

And then I put out the WTB and offered up good coin to try one of these bad boys.

Truth is this, I received it yesterday evening, shaved with it this morning with a Gillette Rubie and I honestly got the closest, quickest and more effortless shave I have had in two years.

The DLC is pretty amazing for me. YMMV, but it's a keeper for me.

Jason

Jason you have come full circle. The Weber dlc is a very good razor and the coating made it better. Unfortunately, Weber no longer makes this razor so count your self lucky you were able to pick one up.

I did not --- my short jaunt with the iKon slant left a bad taste in my mouth for slants about a year ago --- although the 37c gave a great shave and so did some of the Hoffritz slants I owned.

This is, I always left my DE shaves before with some razor burn on my neck and jawline, no matter the soap, cream or technique I used.

Maybe it was a fluke this morning, but my shave was 3 passes, took maybe 8 minutes and I was BBS and I used a soap I use regularly in 3P.

I look forward to my shaves with the DLC .... Still love the Cobra too though.

Sorry, maybe 6 months ago is when I tried the slant ( whenever it was released)

Then I advise you to try it. I've never tried the Weber DLC, but I'm pretty you won't regret trying the Merkel, it is very smooth and gives a very close shave, IMO.

Deal --- just ordered the black one. How can I pass that kind of offer, or passion for that matter, up?

Thanks,

Jason

They are amazing shavers. I traded several for what I found to be my best razor ( Joris). Kept one DLC for myself but even that is gone now. There was this gentlemen who kept asking for it and I kept refusing until he made me a offer I couldn't refuse (has a lot to do with all the people wanting a DLC on the forums). I mean the DLC is very good but not that different from the PH version to pass up such a offer. Boonie21 I hope you have many great shaves from yours!

The DLC is so good that I have gotten rid of pretty much all of the razors I accumulated over the past three years. Keeping the PH and am actively looking for a ARC. Why because I'd like to have a full set, and I figure it'll be easier than trying to start a DLC collection.
