I finally got some Pino Silvestre. It is just one of those old school scents that is a “must try”. I found that I really like it!

This is the link to Gio Abrate's old site. If you look under " Store " then select "Fragrances" he gives a mini primer on a nice number of " classic scents" . His listing is a nice reference because the fragrances he used to sell seem to complement one another. If you like one you'll probably enjoy many others.

I really liked the Pino Silvestre aftershave, but unfortunately, as often happens, I developed a skin reaction to something in it.

Thanks for posting this link. I have been getting into colognes and really like some of the older scents.

I was eyeing Pino Silvestre a little while ago. But didn't order it. I thought it my have a strong pine scent. Not a big fan of Pine. per Gio's site it sounds like this is not the case.

Finally pulled the trigger on a 4.2 oz bottle tonight. Can't wait for it to get here. I'll be sure to let you guys know what I think of it.

I heard that the shower gel smells even better than the EDT.Smile

Also, on Basenotes, someone managed to get this:
Quote:Hello to all Coneheads and others interested in pine scents, in particular Pino Silvestre .
I've received a nice press kit from Mr. Massimo Vidal, the Managing Director of Mavive (the holding company of PS). It is a 4-page colour pdf file, with many interesting facts on the philosophy and psychology behind the scent's design. I've put this in as an attachment to this thread. (Thanks to Grant for his assistance on this.) Enjoy! Let me know what you think.

This link should work, otherwise click on the thread link above:

I just clicked on the R&B shaving store under features.

scrolled down about 3/4 of that page and clicked on fragrances and it takes you to the classic colognes page.

I got my bottle of EDT on the mail todaySmile

Spayed some on after work today and like the scent. It's totally different than anything I have in my rotation.

Kind of reminds me of the tree car airfreshener that was pine scented.
