All you Simpsons experts out there, what is the difference in the Classic 1 and Classic 2 other than size? And how would these two brushes compare in size to the Simpsons CASE.

If someone has pictures of all three setting next to each other, that would be great.

Thanks. Nice grouping but trying to find out how the three brushes above compare to each other. I have the CASE but looking for something larger to travel with, I think.

Size is pretty much the only difference, and very slight at that. I honestly do not understand why there are even two options.Huh
That said, it's like a mini chubby and super dense..I'd think you'd have issues with drying, if using it as a travel brush.

I describe my Simpsons Major as a Chubby 0 and the Classic (1 or 2) as a Chubby 0.5.

I don't think the difference in size between the Classic 1 and 2 is significant. I know that the CL1 fits in the travel tube.

As far as travel brushes go, I think a Classic 1 with Synthetic hair would be ideal.

Classics always seems to be under the radar when Simpson brushes are being discussed. I ordered a Duke 3 a couple months back after SO many positive reviews and although I love the quality and attention to detail in the brush, I just don't like the lack of density and the amount of splay it has (mostly splay). All my other brushes are shorter loft + 2 band and I face lather. Two nights ago I set up a trade for a classic 2 as I hear they're a bit more dense and shorter loft and I found someone that didn't like their new classic 2 for the reasons *I* think I'd prefer one. I can't wait to give it a try.

Johnny, FYI I've tried many times to get a CL2 into the tube and have yet to see it happen.

I love my Classic 2 BEST !!! Certainly Chubby dense with a much larger knot than the CASE...Mine was also blessed with an especially super soft and gorgeous BEST grade hair! Indistinguishable from other SUPER grade knots...I would say the Classic 2 gets my vote...but the Classic 1 is only minutely smaller in regards to both knot and handle, but can fit in the small sized travel tube Exclamation That is a big plus, and has me hoping a Classic 1 Synthetic comes into production Angel

I got my Classic 2 and like I mentioned, I traded a Duke 3 for it and I'm very happy in the trade. The duke 3 had a nice handle but it wasn't dense enough and it had too much splay for face lathering, at least for me. The classic 2 is noticeably more dense with much better back bone. I'm very happy with the brush. It doesn't seem to get much attention in threads compared to other brushes in the lineup for some reason.

The only negative I'm having is for some reason I can't get much soap out of it by the third pass and I load it for the same time as my knots that are much bigger in size and density. I hear brushes break in over time and at some point they'll give up lather better - I hope this is true.

I'm glad your liking the Classic 2! It really does have great dimensions, density and is one of my favorite face lathering brushes too. I think the knot will bloom/open up over time allowing for better flow...I think this is partially the nature of the beast, but certainly you should expect it to improve. I hope you continue to enjoy the trusty Classic 2 Exclamation
