I have been posting/asking questions on this forum for a few weeks now and I just realized that I never introduced myself.
I am new to the DE shaving world. To be completely honest, I switched because I was tired of paying so much for those multi-blade cartridges.
Little did I know that traditional DE shaving would soon become an obsession of mine. Not only I am getting the best shaves that I have ever had, I also LOVE researching and testing out new products and techniques. I may end up spending more than I would have with cartridges (brushes, soaps, creams, razors etc) but I don't care. The new found love for shaving is worth every penny.
My wife laughs at me when I try to talk to her about shaving but she like that I found a "hobby".
Anyway, I am now a DE shaver for life. Maybe once I hone in on my skills with a safety razor, I will get the courage to try a straight razor. That may be some time down the road but it is something I want to try.
I really enjoy reading everyone's posts. This is a great forum. I am very glad that forums like this exists for my new found obsession!

Welcome here. When you're just starting out is the most exciting because there is so much to learn, explore, try out ....

A straight razor shaves fantastic, it requires more practice before you get really good at it but it's definitely something worth trying!

And remember, you'll save a lot of money on the cartridges ;-)

Hi neighbor. There's some decent selection of stuff available locally. I'll be glad to pass on what I've found if you're interested.
