Gentlemen,
Have you experience with this new razor? If so, what are your thoughts? It looks different. Thanks.

Never saw that razor before, they look good but I don't like smooth handles like that, wish there was knurling and a flat base, I don't mind that it is aluminum, lighter razors are nice to use sometimes. Thanks for sharing the link.

Fantastic shaver Obie. Smooth close and irritation free. I have both the black and gray.

Ben, thank you for the link.
Jerry, thank you for your thoughts.
Not that I need another DE razor, but I'll have to think about this one, as it intrigues me.

The handle has excellent grip...sort of a sandblasted texture...does not slip...3 1/2 " long and 1/2" in diameter...very nice excellent shaver...unique construction.

Good luck with the razor, Obie!
I thought you were reducing your den and not adding to it! Biggrin

Celestino, I am saving every penny for my book promotion. It should be released in the next couple months, I think. So I have frozen purchases of shaving products. If, however, I see something I like and buy it, then I have to sell something from the shave den. I had sold a number of things through the past weeks, so I had credit with myself. Also, I will put up for sale in a day or so a DE with the Edwin Jagger shave head and Weber Bulldog handle. In the meantime, I ordered the Standard razor in the Gray color. Let's see what the fuss is all about.

I was interested until I saw the non-standard male type threading on the handle. I use custom handles on most of my razors and not being able to use them is a deal breaker for me, otherwise it looks rather nice.

Just used mine tonight for the first time.

I purchased the black one and shaved with it tonight.

I must admit that my initial shave went fairly well. I was trying to dial in the pressure since it being aluminum makes the razor much lighter than my DLC.

The audible feedback is like nothing I have ever experienced --- it sings the entire time until it hushes itself to inform you there is no more need for any further passes.

After one shave I would rate this a solid B+ --- I can see it becoming an A+ though once I dial in pressure --- I was also using a new soap tonight in one Shaveabucks South African Williams shave sticks (which by the way was superb).

Anyways, I think Standard razor is on to something.

I can see them offering a somewhat etched or knurled handle option in the future to bring those who are hung up on the smooth look over to their side of the fence --- honestly it was more slippery dry than wet -- once it was wet I had no problem with Any fumbling or such.
