It may not win any beauty awards (looks a bit like an older woman's body), but man is it comfortable.

I wanted yet another custom brush, but desired something different. So I set out looking for a less common brush handle, and came across the hoffritz barrel. It looked cool, but I could imagine myself dropping it when slippery.

After drinking a beer or two, I had the idea to crush the barrel, like I did to the beer cans.

I sought out Mr. Rudy Vey, and in a rambling borderline incoherent series of emails (rather like this post), explained my idea. He said it could be done, and here is the result:

I think it came out great. 21mm special knot (Rudy had some knots made awhile ago, and this was the last one) which is super soft with great backbone, in moonjava material. I've taken to calling it the crushed barrel handle.

Very nice. Just think what you could design after drinking a fifth of bourbon. Biggrin

Based on my artistic ability when sober, it would probably just be a tangled mess of scribbles. Rolleyes

Older woman's body? I invite you to visit the Northern Va. area...unfortunately, this brush would remind you of the vast majority of the population, young and old. Sad

Take care,
Ed

Very nice, the brush is both great looking and original.

The story itself is well worth the read!

Great looking brush. I have large hands, and I can see using a handle like that as it's something I could grab on to. However, I would never mention the older woman shape, or it would quickly end up in the trash in my house.

Love it, I want a Moonjava brush but really shouldn't, this doesn't help at all
