I tried placing an order for more Irisch Moos and was told that the shave stick has been discontinued. I will place a few more phone calls to other distributors on Monday but it looks like yet another product is DOA.

The silver lining? You now have another product to use for the Monday "Mourning Shave".

Phil, I was JUST eyeing my lone IM stick this morning thinking it was time to revisit this brother of Tabac. Now I may need to find a few more!

I am hoping that I can locate another pallet of Irisch Moos as I am extremely low. They were unable to fulfill my last order and only included a small fraction of what I had ordered. That should have been my clue that something was afoot. A6

Mauer & Wirtz has always been kind of squirelly with Irisch Moos. When I first tried to get it, they refused to sell to the U.S. Their reasoning was that there was not a market for it in the U.S. My Tabac distributor was unable to get IM even though both Tabac and IM are made by the same company. Huh

Maybe if the shave sticks wouldn't last a year they would sell more. lol
I've had my Tabac stick for more than a year and I'm finally nearing the end. Even if I used it everyday it would last a very long time. I imagine the IM stick works the same as Tabac, just with the Moos scent. The IM cream is ok, but like Tabac, not something I'd buy again.

My money is tied up in Proraso futures anyway.

I should try to get a hold of an Irisch Moos shaving stick before it's no longer sold. I've heard good things about it.

I have heard so many good things about Sir Irish Moos, but I never tried it. I do know that I now have regrets of never ordering the La Toja Manantiales shave soap when it was being produced. Sir Irish Moos might fall in that same category and I do know that quality shave products always have good trade value especially if they have been discontinued.

In the German Wet Shaving forums this rumour has been a topic for several times in the last years.

Many big drugstores have dropped the stick out of their sales range and big quantities of the sticks appeared at the German ebay. I got my reserve of 6 sticks for 7 €. Shy

It is not my favourite scent but it is an excellent soap and it has a lot of fans.

But it is really funny that they are telling an US-Wet Shaving Shop that there is no market for it in the US. Rolleyes

I understand that the IM shower gel has also been discontinued. Perhaps the entire line is being eliminated.

It is really that they don't care, they simply want to minimize their production costs by offering fewer products. Mad
