Does anyone know why the items on the Ikon site don't show a price?
They make good stuff, but not priceless! What's up with them?

I think he wants you to buy them from his distributors first and if not then e-mail him for the price....

But only he sells parts. Everyone else sells whole razors, don't they?

They must have just started that, there were prices and you could add to cart about 2 weeks ago...seems a bit of a hassle to have to "contact them" first and wait for a reply.
I suppose you can try dealers, but some of them charge quite a bit more and as BigMark said, what if you want different plates or the 5 piece set?

Connaught Shaving, for one, sells handles, base plates, top plates, and bases.

Phil (BullGoose) sells handles and stands.

After converting from GBP to USD it is not worth it. 60 dollars per plate, You would be better off buying the whole razor.

Small(ish) quibble but the plates are 30.75 pounds which is about $50.

I can't even get a response when I asked about buying a bottom plate. If Connaught sells the plates I guess I need to see if he has the one I want although I don't know that I'd pay that much for one.

My bad. I saw the 37.50 and converted that on XE.com. How exactly does VAT work?

VAT is a tax. When shipping from the EU to the USA the tax is removed.

When ordering from Connaught and shipped to the US, a full iKon SB or OC razor is about $150 total and that is without VAT.
Also, a base plate is $52 total, again that is sans VAT. So you're looking at about a 10-15% price increase versus ordering direct from iKon or a US dealer that has decent prices..Phil being one of them, of course he doesn't carry base plates at this time. Sad

Connaught has great prices on many items, Muhle products in particular, especially for North American customers..but it's not so in this case.

I ended up ordering a base plate from connaught since iKon never answered my inquiry. Connaught's price was about $51 but shipping was less than $2 as they could use small packet shipping. I probably ended up spending about $10 more than if iKon would have sold one to me but at least Connaught makes the ordering process easy.

Not sure where you are located, but it takes about 6-7 days for an order to get from Connaught to Wisconsin. The service is excellent.

Most of the shipping problems are about local Post.
My order was 2014.01.07, UK to Italy, and not arrived yet. Dodgy

11 Days and still not delivered in Europe? I hope you receive your package soon. I just would have thought shipping within Europe would be quicker. But then again it might depend on the value of the item. I have read UK shipments over a certain amount get delayed. I am not sure how that works everywhere else.

Johnny, I'm in Madison. I've ordered a few things from Connaught and always had quick delivery. I'm anxious to see how the SB baseplate will work.
