That I really like.  Good looking, obvious quality but unpretentious  and key to what I like,  understated.

Yes, it and the 1857 (light green face) are among my favorites.

And I really like the size of those watches too, both in diameter and thickness.  I don't  care for the big watch trend, watches that practically cover the whole top of my wrist and are thick. I feel like I'm wearing a hubcap.

My usual work day watch is getting a service at Les Locles, my other watches with leather straps aren’t that good for skiing.
So, these days it’s this 70ies Lanco, a present from my uncle when I was about 18 years old.
Langendorf Watch Co. merged with Tissot and Omega during the quartz crisis, ceasing production 1973.
It’s cushion form is seriously seventies, the orange paint is less than perfectly applied, but so whatSmile

Lanco‘s demise is pity, as this watch has seen a lot of abuse, is seriously scratched up, has never been serviced and is still working flawlessly.

Great old watch.  I similarly had an old Hamilton given to me 50 years ago when I was in college that kept nearly perfect time despite a lot of wear and tear; I ended up giving it to my son, who plans to pass it on to my grandson.

Beautiful and timeless. Now that’s a classic (and classy) watch. You just can’t beat a Patek Philippe.

I had bought this watch used twenty years ago.
My daily driver, it saw a lot of abuse and became pretty much scratched up.

7 or 8 years since last service, I sent it to Le Locle and after 10weeks it returned yesterday.

Reworked, quite a few parts changed and polished, it looks and feels new again.

As always from you:

Great photo of a quality item.

Feinsmecker, I believe is a Danish or German word, that means a person, who is dedicated to absolute quality and enthusiasm.
You’re a feinsmecker

Feinschmecker is a German word, best translation would be gourmet.

Luminox 827.  It's chronograph functions no longer work, and it would be too expensive to repair, but it keeps good time.
